Nexxtep and Valdosta State University recently partnered to recognize Andrew Wells as this year’s recipient of the Nexxtep Scholarship for Outstanding Student in Computer Information Systems.
Below is Mr. Wells’ impressive list of achievements:
- Computer Information Systems major with a 3.95 GPA
- Expected graduation: Fall 2016 (December)
- Undergraduate Research Symposium participant – 2014
- IT professional at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College
- Volunteer at the Mailbox Club
VSU Professor and Mathematics/CS Department Head Greg Harrell commented that “[Mr. Wells] is diligent and easy to work with. The faculty all speak very, very highly of him.”
On Thursday, April 28th, we welcomed Mr. Wells, his family and several faculty and staff members from VSU to our office for an award reception. Nexxtep’s Vice President and CTO Stuart Avera, along with Marketing Director Anne Shenton, presented him with a framed certificate and a check for $500.
This is our third year presenting the Nexxtep / VSU Scholarship. Previous winners are Christopher Rich (2015), and David Gully (2014).
